DESCRIPTION

Fishing cat Youth Camp is a program organized for 25 selected university students in University of Peradeniya. On this program students are educated with field techniques, monitoring and handling methods of small cat species such as Fishing cat, Rusty-spotted cat and Jungle cat in Sri Lanka.
Moreover students were educated about other species such as birds, small mammals, amphibians and reptiles within this 3 days. As a one of main objective of project students were educated in current conservation programs going on south east Asia, conservation methods and how they can could be a part of this to save those creatures.
This Project is funded by Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund as a part of fishing cat conservation project in hill country Sri Lanka.
