Distribution Monitoring

Monitoring the current distribution of fishing cats around Sri Lanka to ensure their survival ,threat reduction and for the future conservation practices.

Presence of fishing cats are monitored by road kills, surveying the locals, camera trapping and veterinary records.

Surveys And Threat Analysis

Surveying locals to determine the presence of fishing cats and also to observe the human fishing cat conflict. This process is carried out with the use of structured base question paper that covers the general facts about fishing cats, threats the face and human fishing cat conflict.

Home Range Monitoring

Monitor the home range and habitat usability of fishing cats in problematic areas to identify their behavior and ecology. Outcome of this study will be used in threat reduction and conservation of fishing cats.
